: Time for cake?

Our Menu for the cafe is created around ingredients from local, Free-range and sustainable sources. With each new menu we write we come up with more products that follow our ethos. We try where ever possible to use these products and believe passionately about supporting local producers and produce; as well as trying to be as ethical and environmentally friendly as possible….its not easy you know! But, we don’t mind and we know you don't because you have told us so!

We also have great selection of homemade cakes, like our Megalicious Chocolate Cake or our legendary Carrot Cake. For people who just want something simple we also have teacakes, toast or why not try our little homemade biscuits?

We have a fantastic range of hot drinks and all our coffee, tea, hot chocolate and sugars are Fairtrade. We also have a fantastic award winning breakfast menu which we serve everyday from 8.30am until 11:45am.

If you need us to deliver or to cater for a meeting at the Countryside Centre just take a look at our menu, then simply email your order to cafe@theorchardcafe.co.uk and we will look after everything else!

School Dinners

Not sure what to feed the kids after school? Don't fancy cooking yourself? Well why not come down to the cafe and let us do it for you. We have a wonderful menu available during term time from 3pm to 5:30pm Monday to Friday.

All homemade and using the same fine ingredients you have come to know us for.

Using only the best ingredients our ready meals are lovingly prepared in small batches at our premises in Sidbury, Worcester.

They are frozen straight away to maintain their great taste and freshness, without having to use any nasty preservatives. They can be kept in your freezer until you need them, them simply heat, serve and enjoy!

We continually strive to improve on our products and rely on our customers feedback to do so. So please let us know how we are doing.

Homemade Chutneys

Our chutneys are made in small batches, using traditional preserving methods with no artificial colourings, flavourings or preservatives.

Our spicy chutneys are perfect to compliment cheese, cold meats or your favourite curry dish. They also make a fantastic present and we offer a discount if you buy more than one jar!

Our receipes have been tried and tested in our award winning cafe and are now available for you to try at home. Enjoy!

Seasonal Recipes

Local Beetroot Soup with a Hint of Cumin

Serves 6

1 tsp Cumin Seed.

2 tbsp Olive Oil.

1 Cooking Onion. Roughly Chopped.

2 Celery Sticks. Roughly Chopped.

2 Cloves of Garlic. Roughly Chopped.

1 Bay Leaf

800g Raw Beetroot. Diced.

300g Carrot. Diced.

2L Vegetable Stock approx.

1. Place the Cumin Seeds into a pan and dry roast them for a few minutes over a medium heat until they start to release their aromatic flavours. Take care not to burn the seeds. Keep them moving. Set aside.

2. Meanwhile in a large pan sweat down the Onion & Celery in the oil until soft.

3. Add the Garlic, Cumin Seed and Bay Leaf. Stir well and cook for a further few minutes.

4. Add the Beets, Carrots and enough Vegetable Stock to cover. Stir well.

5. Bring to a rapid boil then reduce to a simmer. Cook until the vegetables are tender.

6. Allow to cool slightly and blend the soup well until smooth using either a stick blender or transferring to a food processor.

7. Season to taste and serve alongside crusty Walnut Bread or a Seeded Roll.

This soup would love to be garnished with either Feta or Goats Cheese crumbled over the top just before serving. Why not try a swirl of cream or for a healthier option use crème fraiche or sour cream. Heavier spice and heat would work well with this simple soup.
